STATE OF THE ART RENTAL FACILITY
Though Center Stage is a major iconic building in the city of Fontana, standing for over 80 years (see below), it currently, proudly features some of the latest audio, video, lighting and presentation technology. Combined with our expansive and customizable banquet menus and our dedicated staff, Center Stage continues to afford brides & grooms, families celebrating Quinceanera / Sweet 16 / Mitzvah events and corporate gatherings an amazing venue to utilize to its fullest artistic promise.
A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE THEATERThe Fontana Theater was originally built in 1937 as a one-screen movie theater. There are still long time Fontana residents that have fond memories of going to see their favorite stars of the silver screen at this historic theater. The theater was designed by Carl H. Boller, one of the best known theatrical architects of that time period. After the movie theater closed during the 1950’s, the facility was used for various purposes such as an Elks Lodge, a roller skating rink, a tea shop, and a stationery store.
In 2008, the City of Fontana completed a $6.5 million dollar renovation and renamed the Fontana Theater “The Center Stage Theater in Fontana". Center Stage is now home to TIBBIES Great American Cabaret (Southern California’s finest dinner theater), professional "Broadway Style" productions, touring artists, private parties, corporate and community events. This state of the art facility features some of the latest audio, video, lighting, and presentation technology. |
Since its re-opening in 2008 Center Stage has produced over 20 Broadway musicals, 16 original TIBBIES Productions, and hosted famed celebrities Oleta Adams, Mary Wilson, Linda Eder, Melissa Manchester and Charo, just to name a few. The theater has served as host to corporate and organizational events for entities such as Kaiser Permanente, The County of San Bernadino, The State of California, PRSA, Staples Inc. and more. Center Stage has been delighted to serve as a wedding, Sweet 16, and Quinceanera venue for many beautiful and exciting life celebrations.

CITY OF FONTANA

Nestled against the San Bernardino Mountains, Fontana is a modern city that offers its residents and visitors a wealth of community activities, combined with a thriving local economy and central and easy access to major business centers.
Founded in 1913, Fontana is the second largest city in San Bernardino County, and the 20th largest in the State. Fontana transformed from a once rural farming community of the early 1900s to a bustling manufacturing center, thanks to Henry J. Kaiser’s steel mill operations during World War II. His legacy lives on at the Fontana Kaiser Permanente Facility, which now employs more than 5,000 people.
Today, more than 200,000 people call the City of Fontana home. Fontana’s low crime rate, affordable housing, diversity, and below average unemployment rate has made the city one of the fastest growing in California and a trendsetter in San Bernardino County. Despite the city’s rapid growth, Fontana still maintains a hometown atmosphere. Temperate southern California weather allows the City to host festivals, parades and walks/races throughout the year (including the Fontana Days Half Marathon, considered the fastest half-marathon course in the world).
Fontana is particularly proud of its numerous cultural, sporting, and recreational opportunities, including those offered by Center Stage Theater, the Art Depot, the Auto Club Speedway, 59 sports fields, 36 parks, Pacific Electric Trail, highly acclaimed sports and recreation facilities, and the state-of-the-art Lewis Library and Technology Center. The Center is an iconic landmark within the City – offering the largest collection and library space in all of San Bernardino County, as well as hundreds of computer work stations, a career center, literacy center, homework clubs and tutoring, meeting rooms, and a large auditorium. www.Fontana.org
