The Theatre
The Fontana Theater was originally built in 1937 as a one-screen movie theater. There are still long time Fontana residents that have fond memories of going to see their favorite stars of the silver screen at this historic theater.
The theater was designed by Carl H. Boller, one of the best known theatrical architects of that time period. After the movie theater closed during the 1950's, the facility was used for various purposes such as an Elks Lodge, a roller skating rink, a tea shop, and a stationary store.
In 2008, the City of Fontana completed a $6.5 million dollar renovation and renamed the Fontana Theater “The Center Stage Theater in Fontana". Center Stage is now home to TIBBIES Great American Cabaret (Southern California's finest dinner theater), professional "Broadway Style" productions, touring artists, private parties, corporate and community events. This state of the art facility features some of the latest audio, video, lighting, and presentation technology.
